A recent trend in the cryptocurrency sector has emerged, with broker-dealers increasingly opting for the Solana blockchain over Ethereum for large transactions. Here’s a closer look at the factors driving this shift.

Solana Overtakes Ethereum for Large Transfers Among Broker-Dealers

The crypto sector has seen a significant shift as broker-dealers are now utilizing the Solana blockchain for large transactions. According to data from crypto analyst MartyParty, broker-dealers are preferring Solana over Ethereum for performing these large transfers due to its faster and cheaper transactions. The shift is also attributed to the increase in Stable Coin liquidity on Solana in 2025. Broker-dealers are sending transactions ranging from $1-10m using the Solana network.

Mapping Solana’s Short-Term Price Targets

Solana [SOL] has been consolidating within a broadening wedge pattern on the daily timeframe, with resistance levels at $177, $203, and $245. The RSI at 42.71 suggests room for a move higher, but SOL must clear $150–$160 to confirm a bullish breakout. SOL is also in a consolidation phase within a right-angled ascending broadening pattern, which historically precedes strong price movements. Traders may expect a decisive breakout soon.

Solana (SOL) Futures Market Hints at More Losses Below $130

The Solana (SOL) futures market suggests a potential further price drop below the $130 level due to a lack of confidence. SOL’s negative funding rate, at -0.0060% at press time, indicates a waning bullish bias among its futures traders. According to Coinglass data, SOL perpetual futures have maintained a negative funding rate for the past three days, suggesting that short sellers are paying to hold their positions. The funding rate is a periodic fee exchanged between long and short traders in perpetual futures contracts to keep the contract price aligned with the spot market.

Solana ETF Approval Anticipated to Launch Altcoin Season

Many people believe the approval of a Solana ETF will launch the anticipated altcoin season as major investors and whales plan to buy high-potential crypto assets. The markets have become active following President Trump’s announcement of crypto reserves and partnerships bringing regulatory clarity. Industry experts predict substantial market gains after the delayed Solana ETF launch. SOL, the native token of the Solana blockchain, is expected to perform well following the ETF approval.
